Middleberg Hut Hike Cederberg

A relatively short yet rewarding overnight hike. Not a fan of carrying heavy supplies needed for multi-day routes yet still want to experience the thrill and solitude of spending a night out in the Cederberg wildness? Then this route is for you. Starting from the Algeria Campsite, you’ll start with a medium gradient that slowly gets steeper as the paths turn into a switchback. We stop for afternoon tea and a refreshing shower in the waterfall halfway up. From there, we continue to climb to the plateau where the welcome end of the climbs turns into a flat stretch as we pass the Middleberg hut and make camp for the night nearby old oak trees and mount stream.
