Cederberg Holiday Camp | Winter Adventure

An excellent route offering mixed terrain and beautiful scenery. Like our summer option, this route starts at the Algeria campsite. It takes you up past the Middleberg waterfall, Middleberg Hut, Crystal pools, around Sneeukop, before descending via Die gat on your way back to our starting point. A rewarding route in any season, boasting several water points consisting of fresh mountain streams and pools, allowing for a refreshing swim in the afternoon and a place to fill up your bottle with Cederberg’s pure mountain water. One of our favorite routes over the winter months as we often go days without seeing other hikers, and of course, with a light dusting of snow possible, makes this route an unforgettable experience for youths of all ages. Children will be exposed to the proper etiquettes in camp cooking, fire management, basic flora, and fauna of the Cederberg “leave no trace” camping techniques as well as basic winter survival techniques and mountain safety.
